My water heater was leaking and my warranty company sent Triple S Plumbing to fix. Once it was decided that I needed a new water heater that's when Triple S Plumbing tried to convince me of additional services that were not covered that I would be responsible for. One was $140 for a new drain pan (which costs $20) because the one I had was 2-inches too small for the new water heater and that they needed to repipe the drain pan to bring it up to code.

The other was $160 for the permit, never mentioning to me that I could also pull the permit for $72. After some research I told the owner I would handle the permit which he was none to happy about. When the tech arrived I told him I had purchased the new drain pan and I would do the piping myself later. He said there was no way he could do that. If he put MY drain pan under the heater he would have to do the whole job for $140. After 15 mins of arguing with me and trying to convince me that I would NOT pass inpection if I did not pay him the $140 to bring it up to code.

I told him to show me where in the code it says the pipe is the wrong size. Of course he could not show me and then started with well my pan was the wrong size. Prove it!!! Well wouldn't ya know my old pan was the right size and after more research the next day my pipe is at code! Triple S Plumbing tried to make me pay for services NOT needed and used lies and scare tactics. Not sure if they thought since I was a women that I would just listen to what I was being told. I will never use nor recommend Triple S Plumbing to anyone. I'm also filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and any other place I can file a complaint.

Consumers need to beware of Triple S Plumbing! They are just out to rip people off. The charges that I did pay was for the disposal fee for the old water heater and modification of the pressure/temperature relief valve and vent. I made sure I sat there and watched the tech make the modifications. I know for a fact the vent really didn't need modification he just twisted things around to make it look like he was doing something and then taped the seams. At the beginning they wanted me to pay $415. In the end I only paid Triple S Plumbing $175.
