A representitive of Tristar phoned my home and told me that our home had been chosen for a "marketing review" of a new air filter system. If we agreed be part of the review, we were to be given a 3 day, 2 night mini vacation or a smokeless grill.

An appointment was made for the following week. The representitive was to be at my home at 7 pm. At 7:15 we got a phone call and were told that the representitive was running late and was it alright if they came at 8:30. We agreed.

At 8:30 the representitive arrived with a colleague. In the beginning he was pleasant, as he began to open up and assemble a VACUUM CLEANER. The presentation began to be just like a KIRBY presentation.

I began to ask about the air filter, when he popped up with a question, "How much would you pay for a vacuum?" My husband saw right through the presentation and began to be sarcastic with the representitive. At this point he realized that he was NOT going to sell us anything and very abruptly put everything together and left very rudely.

So my complaint is this, "Are companies legally allowed to faulsely represent their motives when sending a representitive to your home?"
