Troika Drafts Shires Shire FarmTroika Shires Total misrepresentation of services for horse and owner, hostile environment, user for money only. Horses received no training and owner was misused. Do not go there! Hebron Maine
After conversations and email with the owner Vicki I brought my two yearling Shires for training. I was assured of several terms and conditions:
1. Skilled training
2. Expert and custom care
3. Daily grain and hay
4. Daily turn out and continual training
5. Custom assistance for my inexperience and for young horses.
6. Access to the barn and facility at all times.
7. Assistance with aftercare for castrations.
8. I paid cash in advance per owners request. I was also asked to provide hay which the first time I thought there must be a temporary shortage. Then again asked to find additional hay source for all of the horses in addition to mine. I did this too. I then bought the hat and had it delivers to the farm and was told that I would receive credit towRds training
9. On day three after the owner had $2,000 cash plus 284 bales of $4.00 per bale hay she turned against me and began treating me with hostility and complete disregard. She told me that she did not even like people.
10. I tried to work with her but it was soon apparent that her hostility prevailed. I then decided to work towards moving the horses which woils take place set soon.
11. After 9 days of hostility and no training I was told that if I did not like it there I coukd take my horses and leave.
12. Threedays later I left.
12. I intend to rectify this series if events in the court.

Sounds just like Vicki. Sucker people in to get them to do s*** for her, then turn on them. She doesn't have Frank Walker to do all the work there anymore (She was cheating on him with another guy and he ended up leaving) so she lures people in like a snake and then steals whatever she can. That house out back at the other end of the pasture was built and PAID FOR by Frank's father. Once it was built, Vicki chased him off by doing the same thing she did to you. While I was there, The customers were people that knew very little about horses so they were easy prey for Vicki. A family from Boston brought two drafts there for training and in two months the only training they got was about 30 minute's worth. When the family came and picked up their animals, they were filled with bullshit stories about how well they had done and came along so good in training. I had to laugh, and I did my best to find this family and contact them to tell them what really went on. When a horse is brought there for training, they were put in a stall, and let out into one of her mudpits every day and that was about it.
I don't understand why she didn't have hay because she has more than enough hayfields. But I am positive it is because she cannot find any more suckers to come and do the work for her for free. She suckers people in by offering "apprenticeships", but this too ends up being people with little knowledge of horses or training so they are easily manipulated by Vicky.
Vicky is a total b***h and manipulator, and her horses are nowhere near the prices she asks for them. Any one who brings their animals there for training is a fool. Avoid her at all costs. If you don't believe me, ask anyone in Maine who knows her. Most of them can't stand her.
