Complaint Review: Troup County Board of Assessors

My home is located in a middle class neighborhood. when I received my tax notice I was stunned. My taxes had increased despite the fact that the house next door has had a piece of black plastic for a roof cover for over a year. The house next door to it has all kind of junk including a coon hound chained in the front yard which barks day and night. The owner had 26 coon hounds which caused an 80+ year old neighbor (who has since passed away) to call me and asked me if I could help him force the neighbor to move the dogs out of the residental neighborhood we live in because of smell and barking. More on this later. The house across the street from me has cut their grass one time this year and a neighbor cut it twice with a bush hog and tractor. Several houses on my street have non operational vehicles The house four hoses down has had plastic tarp on the roof to the point the tarp has detoriated. In addition this house has rusty industrial equipment in the front yard and has been for several years. There is too much to mention at this time. I did appeal my apprasial on the grounds that I feel I could not sell my house for the apprased value if I wanted too. I may have to in the near future due to health reasons. The appeal resulted in my taxes being reduced less than 50.00. I appealed this and am waiting to appear before the Troup County board of Assessors. I have tried to get the Marshalls office to enforce the zoning code here to no avail. My backyard is not to code to see if they ticket me. Looking at my neighbors yard, I doubt it. Please help me.
