Complaint Review: Troy Hawkes

Please beware of Troy Hawkes in the CSRA and surrounding areas.  He is very unprofessional, untethical, and left job unfinished for over 4 months.  We were referred to Troy Hawkes by a local individual and he totally put on a front to get the job.  I had to call him to get started on the job after we put down over half of a deposit to "get on the schedule."  I was advised by his estimator that the reason the dumpster to be delivered prior to job wasn't delivered was because someone was "sick"; which was false after I questioned the employee delivering the dumpster.  The following week the employees showed up and started work, but after questioning them they advised me some were in "training".  They demo'd my kitchen and never ran the appropriate wiring for all the electrical needed for the job, left faceplates off from the job to our dismay. When they put the cabinets in that is where the dysfunction began, after never going over plans with the designer completely to assure us of no surprises.  Window for kitchen we had on site fine, then that changed after we needed another window after they started remodeling which held job up for a few days.  Then I had to ask them to remove the dumpster due to hoa complaint.  I was so frustrated with managing the job, following them putting together bathroom cabinets in my garage for another discouraged customer, thus leaving glue extra cabinet materials and cigarette butts for me to pick up.  Of course to our discouragement, we had to switch out items that was holding the job up and once ordered Troy was contacted to pick up some beadboard and never retrieved it so I had to go get it.  Meanwhile, I discovered he was trying to recruit the designer to come work for him.  Once we had our granite installed we discovered that the back splash was never relayed to the granite company and we had to schedule that to be completed; which Troy forgot to tell the granite company that we would like that installed as well.  We asked for an outlet to the island, which to code for Columbia County and they completely forgot to do that which we just found out to our surprise.  So, in October/2016 Troy calls my wife and asks for three thousand dollars so he can finish the job all in one day!  My wife reluctantly wrote him a check and had to call him to advise she would be canceling the check since the job he promised would be finished with out kitchen.  The employees broke my foyer tiile and advised they would be back to repair that and much more that was supposed to be "finished".  We waited and waited for Troy to return to finish our job after two months and then find out from the designer that he was making negative comments about us canceling the check.  Well, here we are no kitchen for thanksgiving to which our family couldn't come to share with us as Troy "pomised" we would have a funcitional kitchen before the holidays.  Then, while out shopping for Christmas, I saw him and he hastily left from where I was shopping after grabbing his child.  Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this unprofessonal, unethical, and con artist Troy Hawkes.  He will take money from you and beg for more claiming the job will be finished the same day for the remainder of balance.
