Truck Driver Institute ,TDI Indianapolis, IN Location Not keeping their promise Indianapolis Indiana
The Indianapolis location of Truck Driver Institute (TDI) is riping off students, charging them $6000.00 for three weeks of training. Many times there haven't been enough recruiters available and my group had to sit around waiting for a instructor, who never showed up. The recuriters at the school say they will get you a job, yet the only contacts I have had are the ones I looked into, going online with the trucking companies and filing out applications.
Last this school had the worst equipment in the world to train on, such as worn out clutches, range trucks with bad breaks and one of the road truck that would never pass a DOT inspection, this truck (the Volvo) has more air leaks, it should be barred from the road until it is fixed. The air bags for the suspension do not hold air, if you shut this truck off it will loose it's air pressure for the air bags and air brakes (100-140 psi) inside of 5 minutes.
If you want to learn to drive a commercial vehicle I do not recommend this school.

You have, unfortunately, been a guest of a typical CDL A Mill. The vehicles described would come under the jurisdiction of the highway patrol in your state.

yea i was a in training at tdi in sanford florida to get my cdl A license. they told me that all i would have to do to be financed was pay a down payment of $550 to be guaranteed financing, yea rite what a joke! but i paid it and went on to training. the first week was good, great instructor (rex) he would work with you with everything if you needed exstra help...back to my point though. Thr first week was classroom learning to get class A permit, drug test, physical ect.. which i had already done all this prior to starting school. On the first day of the secong week (range driving) i was called to the office to see my recruiter (rodney t) he said i got some bad news, you have to go home, so i need you to go back to your hotel and pack up! wtf!i thought why? I thought that maybe i had done something or said something wrong..but turns out they told me my financing was forfeited? bs! This happened to several students while i was there. We started with a class of about 20 and b4 i left it was down to about 7! I see rite through their little scam. they also have refused to refund my money on several accasions but its ok i'll take the lost and move on , but i hope that this scum bag company goes bankrupt, but if you realy think about it, that would be impossible with all the money they are getting from people and then not training them!

When were you a student?

Could you tell us when you were a student?
When did you begin the training?
Were you able to get your CDL-A.
Were you contacted or referred by a trucking company to the TDI program? The reason I asked is because I contacted Werner and a recruiter from TDI called me. He indicated that they do the training for Werner.
Did you stay in a motel during the training? How were the accommodations?
How close is the motel to the training center?
How many students in your class and how many graduated?
