I've used TrustFax since 2008 to send digital faxes, but then I bought a printer with fax capabilties, so I called to cancel.  The phone rep said I must cancel via their web site.  I found this strategy a bit scammy, but I went through the procedure online as instructed.  Since I was on an annual billing cycle, I assumed my cancellation was "accepted" until the charge appeared on my credit card statement the following year.  I immediateoly called TrustFax to say that I not only cancelled, but had not even logged in during the past year.  They asked me to produce a cancellation confirmation email, but I never received one.  Now I very much regret not printing the cancellation confirmation page that appeared when I completed the form.  Here are my complaints:

1.  Any respectable company would provide a refund, because they could easily check my account actviity and see that there was none.

2.  I had been a paying customer for five years, so I clearly I wasn't trying to get away with something.

3. I'm convinced that their strategy for keeping your money is to force you to cancel online and then never send a confirmation afterward so they can deny it ever happened.

I disputed this charge with American Express and even pointed out the list of other complaints that exist on this site, but they sided with TrustFax.  I have now blocked TrustFax from the ability to charge anything to my American Express.
