Complaint Review: TuffTime Tuff Time RRWP Rocketeer Watches

Geoff Dedman is the owner of Tuff Time and RRWP. He's a watchmaker, modder and repairman who advertises his services widely on the Internet (e.g., Time Zone forums and others). He's not to be trusted.

In January 2009, I sent him four watches for some minor jobs. Two of these were returned to me reluctantly after a few months, following many phone calls and emails asking to send them back immediately. One arrived in pieces with work undone, and the other one arrived with significant damage. The other two are still missing in action as of today (6 months after they were sent to him).

Over the last 6 months, Geoff has made up a ridiculous amounts of lies to justify his lack of contact and the unreturned watches, including personal problems, illnesses of all sorts in the family, family difficulties, trips abroad, stress issues, etc... On at least 5 or 6 occasions, Geoff stated that the watches where either on their way back to me, or about to be posted. But of course, nothing ever arrived. He doesn't respond to emails and telephone calls anymore and has virtually disappeared. However, I have seen him still active on some watch collectors forums, where he poses as a watch expert.

If anyone is considering sending anything to Geoff Dedman of TuffTime, be very careful. Not only is he completely unqualified to carry out any work on watches (and will likely ruin anything he works on), it's also likely that he will disappear with your watches.

I should point out that I am not the only one who has been affected by Geoff's fraudulent practices. There are at least another half a dozen people I know of who have complained about him on watch blogs and forums.
