I purchased Audit Defense from Turbo Tax when I did my taxes. An audit notice from the IRS follwed roughly 2 months later. I contacted Audit Defense and they said that they would help me. I sent them the documents I had on hand. They requested more documents but did not give me a specific date to send in these documents.

Approximately 1 week before the audit was to take place they sent me a letter stating that my audit coverage had been cancelled. I got nailed by the IRS. My bill came to more than $6000 dollars. About 3 weeks after the audit came a letter that said my coverage had been restored. They must think that I am a total moron.

They promised a 100% refund if a customer is not completely satisfied with their service. I did not receive a refund or anything. And what good did it do to reinstate my coverage after the audit had taken place?

The word FRAUD comes to mind. Do no fall into the trap set by an unethical company making false promises on the internet. I made a fraud complaint to the Oklahoma Attorney General but have not heard from them.

I was completely honest with the folks from Audit Defense. They received copies of all documentation but determined taht they would not accept my case. The policy that I purchased stated that they would represent me and that I would be completely satisfied.

They did not represent me nor did they offer a refund. They did cancel my coverage before and reinstate my coverage after the conclusion of the audit. I may never know if the presence of a representative would have made a difference int outcome of my case.

"They requested more documents but did not give me a specific date to send in these documents."

Did you ever send those in? If so, when? Maybe it was cancelled because you didn't send them? Then sent them later and it was reinstated?

Just wondering because you weren't at all specific.

WHY they thought that your audit coverage should be cancelled?

Without specifics as to what you were audited for, this is a difficult situation to understand. Did you fail to turn in all of your income? Did you lie as to your dependents? Was this simply a mathmatical error? Would audit coverage made a difference in the outcome of your case?

Since your audit coverage was reinstated, are they planning on standing behind their guarentee? Please give us more information so that we can make an informed decision regarding this ripoff report.
