Worst home buying experience ever. We purchased our home over 1 year ago and constructions seems to have halted completely. No one has worked on our home for over 2 months. We have no idea what is going on and no one will give us a straight answer. This has just been h**l.

JC, There are many factors that could delay a job, although two months with no work done during that time is a bit much. Have you paid the bills on your new home? How far along is the home? Were all change orders signed. What is the square footage of the home you are having built? Have you put your concerns in writting and mailed them by certified mail to the builder? Did you receive any invoices for the work completed? Did you obtain the construction loan? Is the builder licensed and insured?

If you could answer most of these questions I could probably help you a bit. Usually there are problems with money when a job stops for no known reason. The contractor may be shuffeling homes to make up for overages on another job. Like taking two steps forward and three steps back. He will have a hard time catching up.
