Turtleshack.com Turtlesale.com Never sent turtle, tried to obtain personal information such as "address associated with this credit card" Online, Internet
I purchased a Peninsula Cooter turtle from turtleshack.com for 29.99. And I paid 39.99 for overnight live guarantee delivery. I still have yet to get a turtle and it has been quite a while since I placed the order. However, horrible at customer service and actually delivering a turtle, they were quick to process the order and take the money from my account within minutes. I received two different email receipts from them eight hours later. One looking like your average online receipt and the other one sketchy as hell with an oddball company name, Chelonia LLC. I knew right away that I had been ripped off and was quite worried to think that my credit card information had been fraudulently obtained. I suppose however that I put a little snag in there rip-off game because I used my fiance's credit card and had it shipped to my address. So the company sent me a message a few days after the turtle was supposed to arrive and it read something like, " Sorry for the delay in processing your turtle..it would seem that when you filled out your information there was a different address associated with this card. If you could contact me with your correct address associated with your credit card information we can process the order and get your turtle sent out to you. Contact Mike, at turtleman.email".... blah blah blah....I'm not stupid and they are obviously trying to get my fiance's credit card information so they can likely drain the account. If they had already charged the card..which successfully removed OUR money, why do they need the address for the card then? All I can do is bite the seventy dollar bullet and be thankful that I was having the turtle shipped to a different address. This has been an obvious, hard lesson learned. DO NOT BUY TURTLES ONLINE! Most especially not from this completely horrid fraudulent company known as the Turtle Shack. And by the way, still no turtle. Your best bet if you truly want a pet turtle is to contact your local pet shop. They can either point you in the right direction or even order the turtle for you via a trusted turtle seller that they are familiar with and know is legit.
