I have had a similar experience to many others on your site with this company.

Back in June I placed an order for a boxed set of a TV series and within hours had received 'confirmation' from the company that my order had been confirmed, and then on the same day another email that it had been 'processed'. According to my bank, my credit card was apparently debited for the amount on that same day it was ordered.

A few days later I received a third email stating my order had been shipped. Two months later I'm still awaiting its arrival. Normally - I order a lot of items from the US - things take no more than 2 to 3 weeks.

So about two weeks ago I emailed the company telling them my order hadn't arrived and asked them for their advice. I received no response.

Subsequently I have emailed them several more times via their site etc ultimately requesting a refund but- surprise, surprise- still, to date, no reply. Indeed today when i went to their site I found that the 'server had stopped responding'.

I have now contacted my credit card to see what steps i can initiate to recover the money.

To date I have never been ripped off online before, and have prided myself that I can usually quickly spot a scam- however this site seems incredibly well organised- so well organised it makes me wonder why they don't just sell the DVDs in the first place for all the trouble they go to.

I'd love to think instead that they a just incredibly unorganised one-man band but that's very naive I suspect.

I wonder if any other subscribers have successfully achieved a refund and what steps they have taken OR what steps can be taken to pursue these guys legally (particularly as I'm here in Australia and outside US/Canada legal loop.)

Any advice would be welcome.

Well, the Better Business Bureau serving Mid-Western & Central Ontario seems to disagree.

Jeff claims they are not associated or responsible for any other website. Well, the BBBMWO website gives plenty of additional business names and websites for these guys.

Here's the information for the BBBMWO should any consumer wish to file a complaint:

The Better Business Bureau
Serving Mid-Western & Central Ontario

Jeff from tvboxset, kindly let us know when you straighten things out with the BBBMWO, eh?

Also let us know when your website is going to list the real address of your company so folks will know what legal jurisdiction you folks are in.

While you're at it, why don't you folks register your business information for the domain tvboxset.com instead of using a domain by proxy service? Oh, that's right, you'd have to list your real address and then folks would know what legal jurisdiction you fall under can't have that!

Well, there is a way for folks to find out where you folks are Jeff by going through the internet services you folks use. All anyone has to do is file a criminal complaint in either jurisdiction for INTERNET FRAUD and then law enforcement will obtain the real names and addresses of you folks as part of their investigation. And yes, your hosting service and domain by proxy service will give your information to law enforcement as part of a criminal investigation. Folks in the US should file a complaint in Arizona and possibly the FBI and the good folks in Canada should file a complaint with the Ontario Provincial Police. When folks file a criminal complaint, they should provide the following information to the investigating officer to get the ball rolling:

DNS tvboxset.com Mail is handled by mx10.sso.ca mx20.sso.ca
Conical name: tvboxset
IP address 72.52.7.20

Domain Registrant Information for you folks:

Domains by Proxy, Inc
DomainsByProzy.com
15111 N. Hayden Rd., Ste 160, PMB 353
Scottsdale, Arizona 85260
United States
480 624-2599
Fax: 480 624-2599

IP Block for tvboxset.com: IP address for tvboxset.com 72.52.7.20
Netrange 72.52.0.0 72.52.63.255

Prolexic Technologies, Inc
1930 Harrison street
Hollywood, FL 33020
United States
866 800-0366
www.prolexic.com
hostmaster@prolexic.com

Now folks have the information to relay to law enforcement when they file a criminal fraud complaint. Law enforcement can easily obtain information from your domain registrant, hosting service, and internet service provider as part of the investigation. In fact, these internet service companies are required to maintain records just in case of a criminal investigation by law enforcement!

Folks may also file consumer complaints with these internet service companies about your firm. Perhaps with enough complaints about you guys, these internet service companies may decide you're company isn't worth the hassle and bad publicity and drop you.

Further, anyone who is still waiting for product from TVBOXSET should immediately file a dispute of the charges with their credit card company to get their money back for failure to perform. When a CC company gets enough justified reverse charges against a business, they will bar that business from accepting that particular credit card.

Good Luck to all who are trying to get their money back.
