Hillcrest High Fidelity and Tweeter Home Entertainment, Inc. have completely ripped us off! We purchased a home theater system in July 2005. We made sure that the company knew that we needed the system installed before August 26, 2005. To make the sale, they guaranteed us they could do this.

All in all, after several return trips, multiple examples of miscommunication between the sales team and the installation crew and a poor store manager, our system was not completely installed until September 15, 2005. We had a party of 40 people on August 26 who had to witness an incomplete system after we had been talking up the system for so long.

The other problems included a bait in switch tactic to make us purchase a more expensive remote control, knocking out our phone lines for a day during installation (which we noticed and had to fix ourselves!), half-assed work that looked very unprofessional, continuing to book other jobs for the installation crew to prevent them from having enough time at our house to complete the job, and then blaming us for the problems!!!

The company finally committed to a $1500 credit to resolve the problem, but did not give us the credit for almost a month, because we called daily to push for it to happen! Since then the company has avoided our phone calls and when we do reach them (by continuing to call daily) they blow us off. We have reported them to the BBB and nothing happens to them.

Please do NOT purchase anything from this company. I talked to another friend (after we had already purchased the system) and he informed us that he had the same problem. He stated that the installation took double the time because the installers did not know what they were doing.

Be Warned and stay away from this company!
