It was approached in the parking lot of the local Lowes home improvement store and asked if I wanted a surround sound system that they had too many of due to an ordering mishap. I told them I wasn't interested but they insisted and kept pushing. Eventually they took a box out of thier van and put it into my vehicle and said they would take whatever I was willing to give them. I offered them 400 dollars and they agreed. They seemed legitamate at the time and very friendly even tking the time to take a photo of a bear mount I had in the back of my vehicle.
I realized I had been scammed when I looked uo the speakers on the internet and found this website detailing exactly what had happened to me has happened to others in different pparts of the country.
