I'm writing this report because I saw that so many people out there are as clueless as I was about exactly who was ripping me off. It's Time Warner! TWX are their stock exchange call letters!

During the Black Friday Christmas buying spree, I was asked at the checkout of F.Y.E. if I would be interested in sampling some magazines. I was in a hurry--did I mention this was Black Friday--and I believe I agreed to sample. That's all I said! I didn't sign anything except my credit card receipt, and I never received anything in the mail, asking me to authorize any debit charges!

A few months later I started receiving all of these magazines and several deductions were being made on my account. I called the number listed on my bank statement and was directed to this horribly confusing automated message. I successfully got two of my bank charges reversed--you have to say "NO" to everything the automaton asks you after saying "cancel a magazine"--but messed up when I attempted to cancel the first one I tried.

After you make a mistake like that, you can't cancel using that automated system anymore! Every time I call now, I'm informed that I've already canceled that magazine. It's so frustrating! But now that I know who's directly responsible for this whole charade (Time Warner), I'm going to be persistent in calling them to have my information stricken from their records.

How is any of this legal, though? How can they just start deducting money from an account when they shouldn't even have that information? I NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING! I never agreed to pay anything! How many other companies out there are getting away with treating customers like this?
