TWX Subscription Service Incorrect Billing Amount New York
Hello.
I have subscribed to Entertainment Weekly for a long time. When I renewed my current subscription online, I got a page with an offer to subscribe to TIME Magazine for one year at the cost of $19.99. I accepted that offer and authorized that amount to be withdrawn by TWX Subscription Service from my checking account.
When I accessed my checking account online, I saw that TWX had withdrawn $23.96 for the one-year subscription to TIME Magazine, rather than the offered amount of $19.99. I used a debit card rather than a credit card but will not make that mistake again.
I phoned TWX customer service and was put on hold twice while the female rep, whose name I do not know, supposedly looked up my account. After my second on-hold time, she came back on the phone line and mumbled some words I did not understand. Then the phone call was disconnected. when I re-dialed the phone number, I heard a busy signal.
I have attempted to reach TWX customer service online. I filled in all the information I could on the form provided. Each time I did that, I got an error message that my provided information did not match any existing account.
I realize that there is only a $3.97 difference between the TIME Magazine officer and the amount I was actually charged for the cost, but to offer one price and charge a different price is fraud and theft. TWX subscription services needs to be either thoroughly overhauled or shut down.
Thank you in advance for accepting my report.
