My 2 year contract ended in July, 2008, and I planned to switch and did not renew. When the new provider took over October 13, 2008, I called TXU to verify the bill on 11-15-08 was the final bill and it was, twice verified. I got home this morning from work to a bill for nearly $200.00 and after talking to 3 different people who each had different explanations, was finally told it was for cancelling the contract. I got pretty irate and when I asked what contract, I was told it "automatically" renewed. When I informed them I have every bill since day one and proof that I had no contract since July, 2008, they conceded it was not my fault. I do, however, have to call back on Monday when the "department that handles that" is open to have it waived.

Believe me, I will call and, for good measure, I will call the Texas Utility Commision in Austin and file a complaint also. This is such a scam and I bet a lot of people are paying it without checking first. Like I said, every person I spoke with had a different explanation and I know it will be another when I call first thing Monday morning.

I would never, never recommend this company to anyone. In September I had no air-conditioner and still my bill was nearly $500.! I live alone, do a load of dishes a week, maybe 2 loads of laundry and am very frugal with all lights, etc.
Don't trust them!!!
