Went on vacation for six months and close my entire house down, except for my freezer.  My electric bills ranges from $20.00 - $35.00.  TXU bill has always been paid by ACH electronic withdrawal for fourteen years.

It is apparent that they were not getting enough money so they claimed my meter was broken....My meter wasn't broken, I was not home for six months!

They changed the meter and re-billed me for over a thousand dollars.  I called them and talked with them about it and they tried to lower my bill and they lowered it to first, $800.00.  Few more weeks of fussing, they lowered it to $412.00, I still refused to pay any amount other than $30.00 X 6 months.

I tired to offer TXU credit card statement, airline tickets, even a water bill that showed my usage and consumption, they told me that $412.00 was the bill and I would have to pay that amount.

TXU offered excuses after this point, they said my dogs prevented them from reading my meter.  After ten years of reading my meter, this is the first time my dogs interfered with a meter reading.  I took a picture of the fence around my perimeter the meter showing on the outside of the fence.  Then the would chat with me anymore.

I wrote to the Public Utility Commission, they responded with a letter the was written in hieroglyphics.
Not even an attorney could understand the report.  Over the last year, TXU has been in hot water because the unfair charges with the new digital meters.  Not sure what has become of this matter.

I do know that this bill that I refused to pay in now part of my credit report.
