I am writing to inform the public about my experience with Tyler's Jefferson Motors in Mt. Vernon, IL. In my opinion, Bill Ingram, Trevor Moore and Mike Tyler totally ripped me off. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. I have also spoken to the Jefferson County State's Attorney's office, State Representative John O Jones, and Senator William L. O'Daniel. These people (except the later-Bill Ingram is his son-in-law) have informed me that my evidence shows that I was TOTALLY ripped off and if Tyler's do not offer me a settlement (not a "token settlement" either) I have grounds for a civil suit and will most assuredly win.

I signed a contract in good faith to purchase a 1996 GMC pickup. I was told the contract would be for 48 months. After reviewing the contract that I signed in good faith, it was for 60 months not 48. The truck that I purchased is leaking motor oil (my son says it sounds like his Granddad's Mack-diesel-truck) and the motor is knocking. I was unaware of the leak until the next day. I hadn't driven it long enough before I purchased it to know that it was leaking. No wonder they wouldn't let me drive it home before I purchased it!! I was told that day they would fix whatever was wrong with it. (NOT) I bought the truck on a Saturday (10/27/01) and told them on the following Monday that I wanted my car back. They had given me a loaner to drive while they did the paperwork to give me my car back. They put me off from that Monday until I went back over there on the following Friday. Trevor Moore told me he wasn't computer literate and would have to wait until Travis came back. He told me I could come and get my car on the following Monday.

The Monday that I was supposed to go pick my car up, Bill Ingram called me and told me they changed their minds. I, of course, got upset and asked why and said they couldn't do that after they told me they would give it back. I had already notified the Secretary of State and Ford Credit where I had my other loan. They had told me it would be no problem to stop the deal. Tyler's were aware of this also. Bill Ingram said he would go talk to them and find out what was going. Sound fishy to you? Me too. Bill Ingram called me back and said the reason they weren't going to give my car back was because I had interfered by calling the Secretary of State's office. I told him I knew that wasn't the reason, and I wanted some answers.I told him I would tell everyone what they had done. He then said, "Listen here, you f**king b***h...." I told him to never call me at work again and hung up on him.

I sent them a certified, return receipt letter on two different occasions within the 30 day warranty period, which they refused. I then filed a complaint with the AG's office.

While waiting on a response from Tyler's, I received 3 letters from 3 different lending institutions denying me credit. By the way, I have NEVER been denied credit in my life. I thought they were denials about the loan on the truck (wrong), because I had never received a payment book.(I received my payment book January 10, 2002 after I made several calls trying to find out why I hadn't received it.) Tyler's had applied for credit with 3 banks for me to buy my car back, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE!! Tyler's never said anything about me "buying" my car back, they were just going to nix the deal. The AG's office asked them why they would do such a thing. Trevor Moore and Travis Lipe assured that they had my signature on that application. I have a copy of that application and my signature is NOT on it. They also falsified the information on that application. I am now waiting for a copy of the application that Tyler's submitted when I bought the truck. I am curious to see if information on that application was falsified also.

This is sooo not over!! I am waiting on an "offer" from Tyler's, through the AG's office. I am not sure I am going to stop there. I have copies of everything that has happened, time off from work, phone calls, phone bills and most of all the STRESS it has caused me. I now have an ulcer from all this crap. I am telling/warning everyone I know and don't know about Tyler's in Mt. Vernon. I told Trevor Moore, Mike Tyler and Bill Ingram that I would advertise for them and that is what I am doing. They said they would sue me for slander. Like the Assistant States Attorney said, "truth is not slander".

I do not want anyone else to get ripped off like I have.

The 1996 GMC pickup was the owners personal demo unit until its time of sale, at no time did it leak oil or to his knowlegde has been in a wreck. It was a unusually nice used truck.

Bill Ingram no longer works here.

Although complaints were filed against us in this matter with the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General's office the were all researched and determined to be unfounded and dismissed.

Thank you.
