We may not like it but even offenders have to work

While it is my opinion that child molesters should never get out of prison, they do, and we have to deal with it.  I can only assume that they are good workers dedicated to keeping a job with an employer who gave them a chance.  I know far too many individuals with clean records who seem to have a problem being a good employee.  This is probably the reason immigrants are hired in such great numbers too.  I even recall recent headlines about a supervisor at Tyson who had a huge marijuana growing operation in his own home.  I know men who have had false sexual charges brought against them by scorned women (usually the ex-wife), then boom, next thing you know they are branded for life as a child molester.

Maybe the real fight should be with legislation and getting the laws changed, instead of banning pork products.  Which, many of you want to ban Tyson products, and you don't even seem to know that the Logansport plant produces only pork products.

Bryce says some of these people repeated their crimes 6-7 times and you say they learned their lesson? They are labeled as sexual predators. What made them change? They should go work away from people that are still innocent until proven guilty.

Here is a run down from the site that details the people mentioned in regard to their crimes:

Each line represents one person's convictions:

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT WITH A MINOR
Out Of State Charge] IN - sexual misconduct
CHILD MOLESTING x3
CHILD MOLESTING x6 and sexual predator
Rape, child molesting x2 sexual predator
CHILD MOLESTING

CHILD MOLESTING sexual predator
CHILD MOLESTING x4 sexual predator
CHILD MOLESTING x7
CHILD MOLESTING x2
SEXUAL BATTERY

66% directly for child molesting
77% sex crime involving minor
28% are labeled sexual predator
44% two or more charges from sex crime with a minor indicating high chance of recidivism
22% three or more charges from sex crime with a minor indicating even higher chance of recidivism

I don't care if there are no children around. I have been forced to work around people like this and put up with their antics. And everyone thinks it so cute. But the whole time you scream to yourself, "No, No this is a bad person that will do something again. Don't befriend them. Distance yourself from them." But your felony-free friend co-workers won't join in the shunning of these people and force you to be around them, or else you will have no friends yourself. And as you gag yourself everyday from tolerating these people, you watch as one of them hooks up with that one girl that everyone knows.

Then he moves in with her. Then one of her children wind up molested, and they blame the babysitter, because the kid can't talk and is half retarded anyhow. You never liked the whitetrash girl anyhow, but something like that shouldn't happen to a kid. And you know, in the back of your head who really did the molesting. But no one wants to believe that, they don't want to believe they could be so wrong about someone they believed in. And then it happens.

The guy beats the s**t out of the girl, and there's a fight. His true colors come out, and everyone finds out what a fat load of s**t he really is, and always will be. That's recidivism.

Give me a freakin' break. Are there children working at the Tyson food plant? Are YOU afraid they're going to molest you?

At least these guys are working and they have and/or are paying their debt to society. They have a right to work and try and live their lives. They are the ones living with their burden, don't add to it.

Do YOU live in a glass house? Not that I'm a Bible thumper, but..."Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."

For once, I agree with Peter. Imagine that! We need to open our minds.

We have much more dangerous people working in every business in the country, that have just not been caught and/or prosecuted YET.

Would you rather have the person working next to you be the one who is offending but has not been caught, or the one who has been prosecuted and done his time and learned his lesson?

Think about that one. Time for a reality check. And then think about all of the priests who are child molesters that have never been caught. Are you going to stop going to church and / or taking your kids?

Where do we draw the line?

What is the problem with a frozen processed foods company hiring child molesters? Are they putting said molesters in situations where they will be around children? It seems like the worst that could happen would be that they would molest a ... chicken nugget!

Very few companies will hire sex offenders of any kind. Personally I am glad that they can be hired by this company, rather than be unemployed, collecting welfare that comes out of the taxpayers' pockets, frequenting places near children with all that free time on their hands.

Now ... if you will please explain at least one insightful reason why you do NOT want sex offenders to be employed and hold down a job like the rest of us, I'd be glad to hear it.

I worked as a contracted security guard at Tyson Foods in Ashland Al, first they hired illegals from Mexico, then the went on the work release program and hired inmates that did all kinds of crime, murder rape ect oh yeah!, boy was that alot of nerve racking work, we had eleven unarmed guards on three shifts, and security cameras, the came in on vans and buses and I personally had to check them in and out, it was like a correctional facility in a industrial facility among other workers processing chicken, they had alot of cut and runs, Tyson had no way the proper perameters for this kind of operation and the city complained alot but because Tyson was a one of the major factors for bringing in business, they continued to allow then to operate that way even though one cut and run stole a residents pickup truck and fled to another county, it's ironic how small towns have such secrets.

Craig, Learn the difference between the two categories.

Craig,

Do you know how broad the category is for being required to register as a Sex offender? Do you know that those requirements are different in every state.

There is a very big difference between a sex offender and a child molester. Not all sex offenders are child molesters. There is no connection there.

Do you know that if you accidentally expose yourself to a child under 16 in public, or even get accused of it, and are convicted, you are reuired to register as a sex offender?

I know a young guy here in Florida who was drunk and urinated in public and accidentally was seen by a 14 year old girl. Guess what, his life is ruined as he must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. And he did 11 months,29 days in jail for it, and has a felony record and five years probation. He is now 24 years old. He was 17 and tried as an adult and did not have the money for a good lawyer.

Besides, everyone needs to work for a living right? And they have to live somewhere, right?

Each case has to be looked at individually. You cannot label people without knowing the facts.

You are SO right Craig! Tyson should not hire sex offenders, or any criminals for that matter. You know that 40 year old guy that broke into an old abandoned store when he was 18? Nope, don't hire him. Or what about that 30 something girl that got busted for an MIP when she was 20? No way, she might drink on the job....

I know where these sex offenders should work. Day cares, schools, parks ect. I mean, at least then they have nothing to do with our chicken. Because I know, for me, I never want a criminal coming near my chicken.

Lets start a petition, Craig, and see if we can get them all fired for being undesirables. And then, write to your school board, or local daycare and provide letters of reference.

BTW..how did you get a list of Tyson employees? If you work there, what you just did is against policy and you might want to consider hiding your name. If not, it is usually called theft, which makes you a criminal. Guess you can't work either!

Just Because a Company Hires Them doesn't mean it's supporting sex offenders.

I mean, c'mon...do you expect companies to not hire them? Do you want them to never work? Are YOU willing to support them as they collect some type of tax-payer funded government handout?

Frankly, I'm glad these guys are earning a living, supporting themselves, paying taxes and off the streets and away from schools, parks or wherever else children hang out for at least PART of the day. I would understand your concern if it was a SCHOOL hiring these folks, but they are not near children and are working at a chicken processing plant of all things...not the most enjoyable jobs I'm sure.

Are you saying that NO COMPANY should hire sex offenders?
