In July of 2010 we purchased for $1700+ a U-Line ice maker from a local appliance retail store Builders Sales & Service. From the first day it was installed in our home the appliance has failed to produce even one cube of ice.

We called Builders Sales & Service to complain, they made a quick trip back to our home but couldn't get it to work, and referred us to the distributor for the product: Hadco, a home appliance distributing company at 325 Horizon Drive, Suwanee, Ga. 30024. Hadco arranged for a service technician to come to our home to repair the product. The Technician named Ed was from a company called E-Tech out of Atlanta Ga.

E-Tech has sent technician Ed to our home on two separate occasions. Both times he was grossly late, arriving hours later than the agreed upon appointment time. Both times his efforts have proven to be futile; the first time he was hours late coming late afternoon instead of morning as promised, looked it over and declared it needed a new part, which he would have to order and come back later to install; after weeks of waiting to hear if he got the ordered part, the second time he was supposed to come in the morning but showed up at 7 PM after we called him several times to see if he was indeed still coming, didn't install a part but said he made an "adjustment" he thought would fix it. Our ice maker has failed to produce even one cube of ice.

We are now rolling up on 4 months of communication with the retail seller, the appliance distributor and the product manufacturer with lots of promises and talk but zero results. We have been patient and forgiving in our approach to this situation. We have turned to reporting through this web site out of frustration that nothing is being done to solve our ultimate complaint. We spent $1,700 for an ice maker that after 3 months in our home, has not produced a single piece of ice. This is the ultimate of "customer NO service."
