This place you should avoid!!! Lets start by she answers the phone hello? This is a very small town i needed to ship stuff home before my wedding,This women helped me pack mu stuff into large brand new boxes!!! And helped me tape and get them ready to ship i had a total of 6 boxes. They came a few days later totally destroyed!!! Stuff was hanging out of the boxes boxes had been opened and retaped wedding vases in bubble wrap and a blanket where broke my wedding gown was black like a tire mark on it BECAUSE they re taped it with the dress hanging out! My brand new Ugg boots one was missing my new ipod was broke.I called her store she said NOT my issue and hung up on me!

I called ups here they filed an insurance claim took many many pics knew they would handle it being we BOUGHT so called insurance to protect you from this!! Called her back said there has papers filed from the ups company, once again She has nothing and hangs up on me AGAIN!! Called the corprate office and they stood up for her and would not look further into it! So we will keep on her until she pays the claims for the insurance and the stuff the packaged! If i packaged it wrong at the time IN HER STORE,It was her job to tell me and re pack it !@ not ruin my stuff and take no blame!! I PAID HER FOR HER HELP AND SERVICES!!!I BOUGHT INSURANCE! SHE SHOULD NOT HANG UP ON CUTOMERS AND ANSWER THE PHONE HELLO ITS A STORE!!

Let The UPS Store Handle It

#3Consumer Suggestion

First of all, I think there is a misunderstanding here.  Each UPS Store is independently and privately owned.  It is a franchise the owner bought into.  This makes the owner a small business.  Why is a small business in existence?  The answer is to make money.  Why would you buy boxes from the owner and pack it in her store?  Did you buy all the bubble wrap and tape?  You have to understand that when that store owner allowed you to pack the boxes in her store that I'm assuming you bought from her, she was not getting paid for packing the boxes.  When you buy a box, this does not include packaging service.  It sounds as if you did not want to pay for labor.

I think that people in general think that these stores are corporate stores that belong to UPS.  The are franchised stores.   As a former owner of one of these stores, I know very well that these stores do not make money.  The owners are slaves to UPS and it is difficult to get out.  So the next time you go there, bring your stuff there.  Put it on the scale pay to have it packaged and shipped for you.  Add insurance if the value of items exceed $100.00.  Then, if anything goes wrong it is usually the fault of UPS not The UPS Store.

I would agree with you that the owner should have a little better business sense when answering the phone.

Sounds like you want to blame other's for your improper packaging.

It seems you may have wanted to save a few dollars and package yourself after just buying a box. Sounds perfectly fine there. Where the complaint goes astray is when you expected assistance with packaging. And also wondering....many messages begin with "Hello!...". What is wrong with that??

Most of those ship and package locations are uncomfortable or even request that complex packing is not done in the business space by the customers. It was stated that, "This women helped me pack mu stuff into large brand new boxes!!!" It takes more time for a packaging shop to 'help' a customer pack than the time it would take the business to do it themselves. Yet you expected them to stand and assist your packaging and take full responsibility for it....all while you were not willing to pay them a cent for more than materials??

That business could package 100 boxes, containing identical items as those you shipped, and have absolutely zero damage with any of them. Your package was incorrectly packaged by your own hands with inadequate fill. Items in your package (like a vase in a blanket!), with a puffy wedding dress, sloshed around in the box. The semi-hollow box was crushed from it's own weight and other boxes on it while in transit. All that is avoidable but you wanted to do it yourself, then make the clerk stand there on your time and monitor the packaging and take full responsibility.

Think for once! Hello?!!
