I received a couple of phone call on yesterday from a heavily accented guy who said that he was a prosecuter with the Legal Affidavit office. He proceded to tell me that I had taken out a payday loan from U.S. National Bank in June 2007 and I had not paid it back. I have never taken out a payday loan online because it is illegal to get those in Georgia. You can by going into a location but not online. Anyway he said that I would be facing a whole list of charges if I did not give him the name of my attorney immediately. I told him that I did not have an attorney, he then said that one would be appointed to me when I go to court on Monday at 11am in LA county in California. Of course I live in Georgia, so I am not going to CA. Anyway we had a shouting match because I told him that I needed proof that I owed this money. He then told me that it was illegal to give me that information, but that he could give it to my attorney. He said that his name is Eric Davis, and he said that he was the prosecutor for the the "LA County Federal Court" (there is no such thing). He called me again today and asked me was I ready to clear this matter up, I told him to try to prosecute because I have proof that I did not receive any funds in my bank account. I just do not feel comfortable with my social security number being out there.
