I was contacted Friday May.10,2008 by a guy with a very thick Indian accent who said his name was Steve Williams, calling from the U.S. department of grants in Washington,d.c. He had told my husband that since we had never file bankruptcy and filed our taxes on time we were approved for a $5000.00 loan. This guy even told us the U.S.dept. of grats address in Washington and gave us his phony emp.#. My husband did apply for a small bussiness loan last month so we assumed it was legit!! They will ask you for your bank name, acc.# and routing #. I fell for it!! I gave the info. out.

They tell you to leave $29.95 in your acc. and then record you saying yes to all their questions. Even give a comformation # at the end. Also included in the scam is a health care package. They took $9.88 out of my acc. On Monday after reveiwing Government scams I realized what had happened. I was scammed! I called the Department of Grants and found out tey NEVER call individualls by phone.,andgrants are a lengthy process(lots of paper work.

After I got off the phne with th Grants dept. I called my bank and had my bank acc. changed! I have learned a lesson in life. If it sounds to good to be true it usually is!Never give personal info. by phone. Same on all the ahoes in this world!
