On 12/05/2003, U-Talk Unlimited offered free gas coupons to examine a long distance phone package risk free for seven days. They required some billing information to cover the cost($1.95) of setting up the account, which would be refunded if you decieded not to keep the service. I was told that the same account would be billed if I decieded to keep the service after the 7 day free trial.

On 12/27/03 I recieved the info. package from U-Talk. There were no gas coupons included. Thinking that they did not honor the promise to send free gas coupons I immediately called and cancelled the Long distance service. I was given a cancelation number and told I would not be charged. On 1/13/04 I opened my bank statement to discover that U-Talk Unlimited had drawn a check off of my account for $141.85 on 12/11/03. This date was before I had even recieved the information and had the 7 day free trial.

I called U-Talk Unlimited and I was told that a check had been issued to me as a refund and that it was in the mail, and I should have it in 7 business days. I have yet to recieve the check and repeated phone calls have recieved the reply that the check is in the mail. The Customer service people say they have no direct contact with U-Talk and can only pass on information thru a data base and email. Thay are unable to give any information pertaining to when the refund check was issued, or how to get in touch with the company directly. I have submitted a complaint to the IFCC.
