ubid.com Rip-off, Some advise regarding the 15% restocking funky fee and charges to ship back products.

Here is some advice regarding the funky fees that UBID tries to charge you to "restock" defective or incorrect merchandise sent to you as well as any fees to ship the product back to you:

1. Never, ever pay any "restocking" fees. These fees are illegal to charge unless the product that was shipped to you was the exact product you wanted at the exact price you wanted. UBID could never justfy to the BBB charging you these fees if the product they shipped you was defective, the wrong product, or the wrong price. If they try to charge you the fees, tell them exactly where to stick the fees after explaning to them that you are going to contact the BBB and your credit card company. Contact your credit card company and tell them to place a hold on the UBID transaction.

2. Never pay any shipping charges to ship back defective or incorrect merchandise to UBID. Inform UBID that it is their fault, not yours, that the product came to you defective or that the product shipped did not match exactly to the product you purchased. It is THEIR responsibililty to pay for THEIR mistakes. Inform them that you are sending it COD and that you are notifying the BBB about the deceptive shipping fees. Also contact your credit card company and place a hold on the UBID transaction.
