The other day I was on UBid looking for a new hard drive. I found one that suited my needs, a IBM Deskstar 40 gig. I proceded to place a bid for $84. I completed all the required information and submitted the bid. To my surprise the bid price showed $139!! I was sure I had entered $84 on the pull down menu but on going back to the bid page I saw it had changed to $139. I contacted UBid immediately by phone and was told that they would canel the order as soon as it was entered into the system and would e-mail me a comformation. Well the e-mail never came and I contacted them by phone again. This time I was told they would not canel the bid and that once the item was "in the wharehouse" there was nothing they could do, but I was welcome to return the item for a 15% restocking fee, $115!! This is more than the drive is worth to start with. I guess these guys are going to get their money one way or another. I ended up paying twice what I should for this item. Be careful when dealing with these jerks.
