I bought A 94 Honda Civic From Ugly Duckling Car Sales In Riverside, CA. I Just needed a car for the purpose of getting back and forth to work, well by the time I drove the car back home I smelled Transmission Fluid, I thought nothing of it, then the smell continued, then the transmission started shifting bad, it was going out.

I called Ugly Duckling and they told me to bring the car down and to see if they could fix it, well I recieved and call from the Manager Mike, and he said it will cost me $1200.00 to fix and that they well put this on top of the oringnal loan which is $15,000 including Interest on a 94 Honda Civic.

As of right now I have a outstanding Loan of $13,000 A bad Transmission and a Car I cannot Drive, Thanks to the Wonderful people At ugly Duckling.

See What I Mean! ...typical UGLY DUCKLING response

This is the typical UGLY DUCKLING response. I bet the person or (so call person) making this response is not a buyer from Ugly Duckling, but someone from Ugly duckling themselves.

By the way I did Test drove the car, Since you seem to know everything, or did you really read the complaint, (It seems you didn't) A test drive doesn't last that long and Like I said in the complaint the car was smelling like transmission fluid (which it didn't at the time of the test drive) when I drove home from Riverside ( where I bought the car) to compton, which is about 45 miles or more. (that's longer than a test drive).

The other thing is about the Price, $9,000. is what I paid for it and just like I said in the complaint, that after paying all the payments with interest, the car would amount to $15,000. I SUGGEST YOU READ YOUR OWN CONTRACT.

Remember, you can defend THE UGLY DUCK all you want to, but there is one thing You must take in consideration is that There are so many complaints on this website about the UGLY DUCK that no one one in their right mind could ignore. So don't play STUPID!!!!

PS: In about three days I will leave a udated response to this complaint under the New Drive Time dealership the duck has picked up for themselves.

i understand that my window and your tranny is

like day and night as far as fixing but did you even test drive the car?i mean your saying that on your way home the car just started acting up. i mean that doesnt even sound right unless you DIDNT test drive the car.which would be kind of your fault, right? also why would anyone buy a 1994 honda civic for $15000 i mean you can get one for like no more than $7000

A BIG DIFFERENCE

There is a BIG difference betweeen a Non operating window and a TRANSMISSION, the cost between the two is NIGHT AND DAY. Isn't it Ironic that a buyer from Ugly Duckling that suppose to of had a good experience (with the dealership in question) be looking through the badbusinessbureau ads just to leave a positive comment. It only means one thing, " THE UGLY DUCK READS THESE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEM"

UGLY DUCKLING Sold me A car with A bad Transmission

Talk about listening before you do anything, when I first walked in the Ugly Duckling office, A guy passed me and said "some of my friends have bought cars from Ugly Duckling and they all have either Engine or Transmission problems, In reply I said, very boldly " I'm getting that nice 94 Honda sitting over there, I don't think I'll have any problems, he said "maybe I'm one of the LUCKY ONES". I bought the 94 Civic and drove it home, then I started to smell Transmission Fluid, I thought nothing of it, then the Transmission started shifting badly, I called Ugly Duckling and at first they seemed nice, then I called again and that's when the games started to begin. First they started with the "do you know who you talked to" game, knowing the person making that statement is the same person asking the question. Anyway, I took the car all the way back to Riverside from Compton, to days later the Manager Called and said It would cost $1200 to fix, not replace, and that they would put this on top of the already $15,000 loan I'm paying for the car. As of right now, I have a Outstanding Loan of $13,000 and a car I cannot drive. Thanks to the wonderful people at UGLY DUCKLING.
