Copy of letter sent to Uhaul-
"...1- Your review website goes in circles.

2- Scott Baker is one of the nastiest people I have evermet, especially when giving a service.

a- The seatbelt in the truck I rented had a problem. Scot tmade it work, with difficulty, and I had trouble all Day. He should have procured a new truck (there were plenty).

b- He never went over the rear door hitch and because ofthat. The rear over head door opened while I was driving. I was honked bypassersby and one couple collectly most if not all the papers that flew out-

  i) I lost at least one lightweight jacket.

ii) 2 drawers from a desk fell out and broke (The papers were in the drawers (I have to buy a new desk unless covered by Uhaul)

iii) Other item in the drawers were either broken or scattered along the high including a label maker and accessories.

iv) A largemicrowave stand with drawers fell off the truck and was smashed all over thehighway along with the drawers. I also have to buy a new desk unless covered.

Mr. Baker ranted and raved about if I can't lock a door, Ishould not rent a truck. I am 62 and have rented dozens of cars in my life. Anattendant courteously shows how everything, from the simple to special nuances.I have never had any company providing a service rant and rave that customersare often wrong, etc. A customer may be wrong, BUT, a 'salesman' never saysanything and definitely does not rant and rave.

In this case he was wrong on both counts and I am awaiting your response."

The supervisor manager contacted me twice a week apart after I complained. He forgot the first time. The file number filed had nothing to do with the claim. I was later told I have to file with the insurance company, I was given the wrong phone number. The Insurance company finally took my claim and told me that I had no claim since I did not ask to be shown the double lock system on the overhead door (Nor was I told the instructions were in the packet given to me). I never have been contacted by the Uhaul manager/supervisor and no confirmation about the approx. $500 it will cost me to replace the items due to their negligence  in not giving instructions. (I have rented cars, tools, etc. and have always been given instructions on their use, whether or not I needed. to."
