First let me clarify that this is more of an inquiry than a report. I want to find out if anyone has had any trouble with Ultimate Match (or UltimateMatch or UltimateMatch.com)? They are promoting a new MLM opportunity which doesn't look too bad on paper.

My main concern comes from the fact the the founders (Stephen R. Smith and Cameron Sharpe)of this enterprise were heavily involved with Excel Communications. From the reports on this site and others Excel is not a company I would want to be involved with.

I realize the company is very new (not even operational yet) but if anyone has any feedback regrding the company or the individuals running it I would appreciate hearing it.

Thanks for your time.

Any company can look good on paper. If you have any questions regarding the legitimacy of a MLM, contact your Attorney General's office or the Consumer Protection Agency. They can quickly identify the MLM and determine if it is a pyramid scheme. I did exactly this. The Attorney General's office recommended that I NOT get involved with Ultimate Match.

Please check out Cameron Sharpe on the Better Business Bureau website to see what other have reported.

I would also investigate Excel a little further. I read that they sold the successful part (customer base) of the company to a Canadian firm but the MLM portion of Excel was retained in Texas and the company filed bankruptcy to prevent paying any distributors after the MLM was no longer economically viable.

Be cautious. It is a large investment they are asking for and you may never see anything in return.

#3Consumer Suggestion

Fri, October 31, 2003

It appears that the negative comments you are reading about Excel communications concern events driven by changes on the corporate level in recent years. I suggest that you not confuse current events concerning Excel with the UltimateMatch opportunity. These current event comments about Excel are not relevant to Mr. Sharpe or Mr. Smiths envolvement with Excel many years ago.

Although I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Smith, I did have an opportunity to meet Mr. Sharpe about a month ago in Austin, Texas. I can only give high praise. He is an honest and incredibly hard working young man. While I share his enthusiasm for the UltimateMatch project, I continue to wish I had half of his energy.

I have previously never been involved with a MLM company primarily because I am not, nor do I care to be involved in sales. However, I have been promoting online dating services via web sites for almost two years with income easily exceeding any other source. Not only does UltimateMatch "look good on paper", all of my experiences in promoting other online dating service these last few years suggest this program is going to be a huge success.

The founders of this new company are in tune to the fact that online dating services are growing at a tremendous rate. More important, is the fact that these services are flourishing largely by word of mouth. I thought it was absolutely brilliant to introduce a commission structure that promotes what people are normally doing anyway.

Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like some additional insight at bruce@pippin.us.
