I have a complaint with Ultimate Warranty also. I bought 2 aftermarket warranties last September for a total of $2700. In July of this year, the A/C compressor went out on one of my vehicles. I took the vehicle to the repair shop and they contacted Ultimate Warranty. After diagnosing the vehicle and calling UW for approval to repair it, the repair shop was then told they would have to wait so UW could send out an inspecter to make sure the claim was valid. After waiting 3 days for the inspecter, he finally showed up and approved the claim.
Then UW called the repair shop and told them they would not pay for a new compressor and they would send a remanufactured one. This process would take another 2 or 3 days. I was already paying for a rental car and this would take the rental car payment into the weekend. The repair shop informed the the difference in cost for the new compressor and the remanufactured one was $100. I told the repair shop to use the new one and I would pay the difference.

After the repairs were done, I went to pay my bill. I had a $100 deductible, so I figured at most I would have to pay would be $200 to cover the cost of new compressor. When I got ready to pay, I was informed UW only paid $612 of the $1100 bill. They had refused to pay for a new expansion valve, freon and said they would not pay for all the labor because it exceeded their rates.

They also would only pay for 2 of the 5 days of car rental.

I contacted Ultimate Warranty and asked them why they would not pay full rate, I was told it was not necessary to replace the valve and they didn't cover freon. How is an A.C supposed to work without it?

I then wrote UW a letter asking for a refund for the parts and labor they didn't pay. I also emailed them through their website. I never received any reply from the letter i mailed. I did finally receive an email back from them.

Their claims representative said he would only refund me back the $100 deductible and pay for 2 days car rental for a total of $160. On August 9th i received an email saying that he would process my claim for this amount. Today is October 19th I have yet to receive any refund. I have tried calling and emailing the company for the last 2 months about 2 or 3 times a week.

The never answer my emails and when i do get someone to answer the phone after being on hold for 30 minutes or more all I am told is " Yea, we are sending you a check for $160, it should get there soon". I have tried the last couple of days to contact them to cancel my contracts, but no one in that department will answer my call or return my messages.

This company does not live up to their claims they sent out in brocheres and are very difficult to deal with. All i wanted was for them to pay what they promised, since they refused to do that, I will no longer do business with them and I suggest that anyone else who has a warranty with them should seriously consider cancelling their contracts before they are burned too.
