Umpqua Bank a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation attempted to fine me based on funds availability. By placing a hold on my deposit which was perfectly valid. They allowing me to draw on the money as if it weren’t there. I was fined repeatedly more than $30.00 for purchases many less than $10.00. I never agreed to this type of criminal theft. And the resolution process doesn’t exist. This organization operates like thugs. Immediately the same day I was fined, I explained that I refused to pay and attempted to resolve the issue and the bank manager said we should speak in-person 30 miles from my home. I was surprised that this bank at the regional level operates with impunity to extort people as the laws of our State allow this type of extraordinary theft to take place. I was able to reach the Southern Oregon branch and was informed by telephone that this corporation rips off small business and individuals as a paractice and will not negotiate any debt they may legally enforce. Umpqua operates discriminatory and illicit predatory banking practices. The defenseless consumer is rendered helpless to defend themselves from this robbery. I only banked with Umpqua for one -single day and had my good credit destroyed by an organized payday loan shark disguised as a bank.
