I was laid off from my job as a systems analysts. I have tried to find a new job in this field but was unable to so I took any job I could find which turned out to be low wage for manpower Temporary services. After a 11&6 month assignment I still had hoped of finding a computer job but doing harder labor caused an old injury to become worse and Manpower sent me to a Doctor.

The doctor put restrictions on me. So I was no longer able to work at the low wage jobs or computers do to the weight limit and standing restrictions. At this point I had surgery in hopes of improving my capabilities to work. I have waited almost a year and the injury seems to be worse and the restrictions are still active. I still keep hope that I will find away back to my career and pay my debt but it would seem Unifund CCR partners are saying I did not send back the order of disclosure which I did and are taking me to court claiming contempt of court for not sending back the disclosure paper and also threatening me with jail time. also the amount I owed has had allot of interest added to it.

At this point IM just trying to survive and taking care of my elderly mother as she does not want to be in a nursing home. I have no intention of giving up but I feel this treatment is unwarranted I had no intention of having these problems and will continue to try to find away back so I can try to make a deal to get out of debt and get my live back on track.

You CANNOT be jailed for a bad debt. Period. Even them saying or implying that is ILLEGAL.

AND, that bogus form they wanted you to fill out came from them, NOT the court. Therefore, NO CONTEMPT charge can be filed. Another illegal collection tactic.

Go to FTC.gov and read/print the FDCPA, and then file an online complaint for each violation of your rights.

Obviously, they cannot get anything from you, but you still need to respond. Get an NACA attorney.

Your situation is like so many others, read DISCOVERY BANK-v-OWENS 822 N.E. 2d 869
Because of your disability you may be able to have your case dismissed if you can get legal aide to help and have them read this case. You can get a copy from www.mycollector.com

Reasearch about USURY fees in your state laws and federal laws. This can prevent UNIFUND from adding excess intrest over what they purchased the account from the bank. the court could roll back the monies owed to only what UNIFUND paid for the account. Get a legal aide lawyer to get a copy from the Bank on who they sold it to and how much, so UNIFUND can't lie and make up papers. Look at Budhibbs.com and look for the NACA link for a lawyer in your state.

Find A violation UNIFUND did and get a pro bono lawyer to help you counter sue they butts.
