I attended a National Grant confernce this past April 2005 in New Jersey after seeing an infomercial in the local television channel. I was surprised to see Suzanne Wang from HGTV as the host and I sat down to listen to the "pitched" campaign. After listening for a few minutes, I called my friend and decided to register. After all, it was a free seminar and we had nothing to loose. After arriving at the location and seeing the amount of individuals like ourselves lining up to get a sit, I thought...wow... this may be legitimate. The speaker started and the crowd got excited. Smooth talker, Mr. Rick Wiseman. He went on for two hours explaining how "YOU TOO, could own houses, start businesses, and get all this free money". The crowd was pleased with the examples he was showing from his power point presentation. But... drum rolls please.. the catch, this fabulous plan will cost you $1300.00. The majority of the people left after he put that number up on the screen. Some of us stuck around to see what he had to say. Needless to say, we did not come prepared to spend that kind of money. After they tell you that only a few memberships were available "yet another lie", people jumped out their sits to buy a piece of this big scam.. I kid you not when I tell you that about 100 people signed up for this. By the way they dropped the price to $999.00.

The rest of us that weren't buying this precious package were asked to stay because as we all know they had yet another surprised for you. The guy from Unim comes up to the stage and starts to tell you not to worry because he has this business opportunity that he would like to discuss with you that could give you the revenues so that you could eventually come back to the seminar and purchase the NGC package. He goes on and on about web page and how you could start an e-commerce business for little money. Again, if it sound too good to be true, in fact it is. We liked what we heard and for months we have tried to figure out e-bay auctions. This company promised to teach us about auctions/drop shipments/ and how to earn sufficient money to achieve financial independence. Sweet deal... he made us purchase 2 web cd for $20.00 each and told us that we could sell it on e-bay for $200.00. He also said that we could share accounts and that we could bring someone to the workshop and split the cost. Hmm.. that sounded really good. I spoke with my friend and we decided to split it. OH, I forgot, the price was $197.00. The way he explained it was that for that amount of money, you would get a working website/ customer support/ a web designer to work on the lay out of the page/ cd's for e-bay auction/ e-commerce accounts/ and drop ship list. Sounds like a bargain.... We went ahead and paid the $197.00 with a personal check and left the conference excited to start an Internet based business. After arriving at home and talking to some people about the idea, I decided to get on line and research this company. BOY... what an eye opener that was. As soon as I typed in their name, all I got were complaint sites. I researched the BBB in Florida.. that did me no good, as they do not give you explicit reports unless you buy them.. Same thing goes with Hoover.com.. for you to get a full report you need to pay for them. So if this is a scam, for you to be sure you always have to lay more cash out. Yet another scam..

Thank god I came across this website. I read every one of the reports filed and discovered everyone had the same complaints. Thanks to this website, I was able to act fast. I contacted UNIM and cancelled the contract prior to the 3-day of grace they so nicely give you. After reading how some of you did not get a refund, I called them back only to find out I have to wait until they deposit my checks and then there is a 30 day waiting period for them to reimburse you. The contract is only $197.00 + 20 dollars of that good for nothing website that they sell you prior to scamming you and 20 dollars for my friend for the same cd because they told us that cd could only be used once. Yet another lie.... I contacted my bank immediately and told them what had happened. I put a stop payment on all 3 checks.. the bank was gracious enough and only charged me a one-time fee of $20.00 for all 3 checks..... The reality is that UNIM was only going to send me the $197.00 back and keep the $40.00 from their website cd scam... I can't believe they still got me for the $20.00 of bank fees and my time. All I wanted was to start a small business but these individuals prey on people like us that have dreams and would like to secure our future. It's a shame that they are allowed to continue to operate and for more innocent people to be scammed out of their hard earned cash.

Now that I have informed my bank, they will be watching my account for any direct withdrawals. This I have to say, I will advise UNIM not to put the checks thru, but just in case they start acting up, I have my lawyer standing by.

Thank you all so much for the information that you have provided and I'm sorry that you all had to go thru it. It's a shame that politician are getting involved in this scam and more that there is absolutely nothing that we could do to stop it.

I read that some of you were considering an action suit, let me know.

Regards
