I too recieved a claims letter from Union Financial Securities & Trust today. It included a pretty authentic looking check drawn from First Neighbor Bank.
I scanned the letter and both sides of the check into a document and emailed it First Neighbor Bank at fnb@firstneighborbank.com this is the link from the actual banks website when you click on the 'contact us'.

I checked the routing number and it is a real routing number. I checked out this site and there quite a few who automaticly reject this as a scam. I believe it likely is a scam myself.

I read a couple dozen other entries in the ripoff report and there is one who says his check cleared.

Others say they turned this stuff over to the law who claim they can do nothing about it.

I'm going to try to deposit it and then wait to see if I hear back from my email to First Neighbor Bank.

I recieved confirmation from First Neighbor Bank at fnb@firstneighborbank.com
This is a scam. They are notified. As it is generated in Canada I checked with the Canada Post and they say to report it to the Canadian Mounted Police. I had to much trouble at the CMP website trying to report it. I tried to report it to all parties listed in the scam letter.
