We contacted Union Moving 7/2/05 and received a quote of $4,439.50 for a move from Warren,OH to Tyler,TX. We paid a deposit of $979.83 on our credit card. They called and said they would pick up goods on 8/4/05. After several calls, they said they would be there at 8:00am on 8/5/05. After several more calls Right Moves with New York plates arrived at 5:15pm with a partial load already on the truck.

At 5:15pm with no pre-warning the driver demanded $3800.00 in cash. He pounded counter and was very abusive. I offered a personal check or certified check in the amount of $3000.00. This was not good enough according to the driver and more abuse. Since I would not give him $3800.00 in cash. He left. Union Moving returned one call and non after that. Union Moving will not answer voice messages, e-mails, or faxes. The credit card company will not return my deposit because Union Moving says we cancelled move.

If caught in a situation like this, call the police and file a report. You would then have a copy of Right Moves statement showing $3800.00 cash only. This is lesson well learned but costly.
