I recieved a letter stating I had been approved for a $10,000 line of credit at 5% APR. They claimed that it is a PLATINUM CARD. To activate your card you were to fill out some info on their form and send a $37 check for their membership fee, which would be credited back to your card with your first purchase. Being in the finacial crunch that I am in I sent a check, even though I thought it was all a little strange I went against my better judgement.

After thinking about it I did some research to find numerous people that have fallen victim to this scam. Being that it had only been a couple days since mailing my check they had not cashed it yet. So I called my bank and stopped payment which cost me a fee of $22.

So I wasn't scammed out of $37 but it still cost me $22 for them not to get my money. I am hoping after talking to my bank I can get the fee cancelled, but I feel Union Workers Credit should be responsible for paying the fee.

I hope that someone in the financial desperation that I am in doesn't fall for this.
