Complaint Review: unique interiors

I purchased a living room set from Unique Interiors in Norcross GA. this was represented as new out of the box condition. it was on display in their showroom but i was assured it was in excelent condition. The showroom was small and crowded so it was impossible to inspect every inch but again i was assure is was in new condition.

The salesman was giving me his pitch to try and make the sale. i asked about the leather wether it was real or fake. he assured me it was geninuine leather not man made and went further to tell me it was manufactured in Italy and the frame was construted totally of steel. he even grabbed the arm of one of the pieces and bounced on it to demonstrate.

They delivered the furniture the same day but they were very late in arriving. They dropped the furniture in my room threw papers in my face to sign, tride to over charge me for the deliver and then blolted out the door. It was very late so i went to bed.

Later when i was attempting to arrange the furniture i heard this horrible scraping noise. When i lifted the furniture to determine the cause i discovered there were miising feet. There were sharp protrusions where the feet were to be screwed on and they were digging into my floor. I was now able to do a thorough inspection now that it was out of the crowded showroom and found other alarming issues. There was a brown stain all over the bottom half of the upolstry on all 3 pieces. It was also all over the chrome legs and would not clean off. The feet that were present were totally worn out, and last there was a tear in the leather on the chair.

After assessing the condition of the funiture it was obvious that it was used not new. After discovering all of the issues i took pictures and returned to the store to make them aware of this. I was not met with open arms and a smile. As soon as i there was an issue the immediately went on the defensive. They refused to do anything and told me i was out of luck. In the conversaion the store manage admitted he knew of the condition and that he actally had purchased it knowing this and that he thought he could clean it up and then be able to sell it as new. Either he could not clean it or never tried and put it up for sale as new anyway.

I also found a tag with the manufactures name on it so i did some research and found out that it is covered with bonded leather wich is man made not genuine leather as the salesman told me. Also it turns out that it was made in china not Italy again as i was told by the salesman.

This is a clear case of fraud, i bought new unsued genuine leather furniture made in italy. I recieved used, damaged, fake leather furniture made in china. they are claiming i bout it as it, they sell everthing in the store as it. however i bought it as is as described. i was not told that i should inspect it thouroly because their policies are buyer beware.

they refuesed to do anthing so i posted a review on Yelp, when they saw the post which is totally true and freedom of speach they called me and threatened me to remove it. i contacted one of the other reviewers of their store who left a negitive review and they called them as well and threatened them to take down their post. there are several reviews none are positive and all describing similar issues with the company.
