Unirush Rushcard Blocked card without my permission Cincinnati Ohio

I called RushCard to ask about two charges on my account and I was told to I was being transferred to someone who can help me dispute a transaction. After I confirmed the charges the man I was talking to said my card was being blocked & there was another card on its way in 5-7 business days.May I remind you both charges combined equaled roughly $7.I said,no,no,no I’ll just suffer the $7 loss, instead of not having access to my card, because I need it for food and bills. They said they couldn’t undo it.I didn’t even ask for it.Because of this,me and my children will have to get help with food and my cable may get disconnected over $7.This makes no sense. This isn’t the first time.Couple years ago I went a month not being able to access MY money.I don’t recommend getting a rush card.

Hello,This is M.C responding too,u don’t understand.I see what your saying, but I’m a single mom and that’s my only income.Uve got two kids to feed and bills to pay, when I tell unirush I don’t want to block my card,it’s my money. Now we gotta go seven days with no money is my point.I only get paid bi-weekly.My issue is they didnt do what I needed them to do.This is not the first time either .Two years ago I couldn’t touch my money for a month.I do need to go to a REAL bank.If I could I would.Thank for your input.

Many times if your card is compromised the people doing it start off with low amounts to check if the card is good. Once they figure that the card is valid they start to hit it for more. So while it was only $7, had you kept the card open it could have easily have been $70 or $700 in another day.

I can guarantee you if that happened your attitude of "Oh I will just suffer the loss", would have been replaced by "They should have stopped this" or "They need to give me my money back NOW". Had they kept it open after a known invalid charge all of the "Zero Liability" protections go out the window so every dollar removed from your account would have been YOUR responsibility..not just the $7 you don't mind losing.  So while you consider it inconvienient, the fact is that they very well could have saved you from losing much..much more.

As for not having access to your money. This is something you agreed to when you opened the card, and one of the downfalls of these type of "Pre-Paid" cards.  If you want additional ways to access your money you need to open up a REAL bank account with a REAL "Brick and Mortar" bank.

Good Luck...
