United Air Comfort Inc. - United Restoration, LLC ripoff air conditioning check and air duct cleaning service in Phoenix AZ Ft. Lauderdale Florida
I purchased a $19 a/c check-up and $39 air duct cleaning service from United Air Comfort. I should have checked the company out before I placed the order. I found EVERYTHING bad being said about them on the BBB website to be true.
The final bill was $112.75, an estimate was written for $645 of "recommended" repairs.
What did I get? The 4.5 year old A/C unit worked fine before the UAC technician showed up, I just wanted a quick spring check for the equipment. Now the A/C won't turn on AT ALL. I don't know what they did to it. I feel getting them to put things back to the original state will be difficult.
The air duct cleaning job was a joke in itself -- the way the tech hooked up the machine was laughable. What wasn't funny at all is the amount of mess the technician left there. No wonder the small print says "the Company is not responsible for damage to vent/vent covers, ceiling, plaster, wallpaper or paint" -- they know the mess they leave! I figure another $100 to fix the damage.
READ THE SMALL PRINT!!! If you sign their invoice, you waive all of the protections afforded to you by the Arizona law.
Based on my experience, I believe this company should not be business. It is an unethical outfit with no technical knowledge or customer service.

Well, I work for a REPUTABLE company her ein the valley (customer service) and all too often I hear horror stories from customers calling us to clean up someone else's mess! You want a $19 maint and a $39 duct cleaning, you got what you paid for! Any reputable company will honestly tell you that it costs more for us to GET OUR GUY TO YOUR DOOR, than $19! We pay for the trucks, the tools, vehicle maint, gas, insurance, office personell to set up you appointmet, rent/lease, bond insurance, as well as the phone and electricity to run the office. Now....HOW do you figure you're NOT going to get ripped of for a $19 maintenance???? Again, you get what you pay for...... You paid for the ride they took you on. Next time, call the Heat Pump Council and they can refer you to a REPUTABLE company for service.
