United Airlines $ 50,- travel voucher for missed connection, lost luggage, 3 hour delay Mount Prospect Illinois

eight months ago my son and my wife received a $ 150,- travel voucher (for future travel on United) because their domestic flight (economy) was 2 hours late.

this year a had to go to Cologne, Germany for business (business class) United made me miss my connection in London because their plane was 3 hours late and on top my luggage got lost. I had to buy myself new clothes for the business meeting, arrived late due to the extra time that i needed for shopping.

United employee at Heathrow airport told me that there were no flights when i asked for a supervisor it was "there is no supervisor here and if there was one he would tell you the same..."

she wanted me to go to a different terminal to talk to a manager (going through immigration that would have taken over an hour standing in line). when I talked to the Lufthansa desk they made a phone call and suddenly there was a United supervisor. this supervisor was able to put me onto a plane to Frankfurt that left about an hour later. I had to rent a car in Frankfurt and drive to Cologne.

all what United was going to offer as "compensation for my inconvenience" was a $ 50,- travel voucher for future travel. I even talked to a manager after returning but obviously what I had experienced was quite normal for this company. this was definitely the last time these guys got my business.
