United Airlines has again jacked up its Unaccompanied Minor Fee: It is now $150 each way, that is a non-stop, round trip ticket for say ~$350 will now be assessed an additional $300 for the 2 flight segments, out and return.

When our granddaughter first started flying down in the summer from NJ to NC, it was $50 each way...even last year, 2012, it had climbed to $100 each way. It has now vaulted to $150 each way here in July 2013.

A remarkable annual increase, and an absurd extra cost for 'service' that is nothing more than checking IDs of the retrieving adult, etc.

Another usury type fee, that is also non-revenue and non-income and thus, no Fed Income tax applies to these airline fees.

Even a crooked cost accountant could not justify a $300 fee for a simple procedure such as Unaccompanied Minor, imo.

Ridiculous and a perfect example of gouging...
