On the end of April, 2002, the company named United America Uab called me an pre approved me $2000 credit line with the initial fee of $269.95. I accepted the offer and provide my checking account information for drawing.

On 4-26-02, I was charged $269.95;moreover, on 5-2-02, I was charged $269.95 again. I was shocked at that time. Afterwards, I called to this company and asked for the reason of double charged. They asked me to fax my copy to their accounting office for the refund. At first, I was asking for one refund. I waited for two days; however, I did not recieved any refund at all.

Then, I called them again; I was told that the refund would take within 30 days. I believed them and I waited for the package. Two weeks later, I called them for the package. I was told that I should received them on the coming Friday. Unfortunately, I received nothing at all.

I called them again; and told me that my package was cancelled. The refund would take 30 "BUSINESS" days. At that time, this company owed me $539.90. I waited for THIRTY BUSINESS DAYS FOR THE REFUND. However, I received nothing at all. I then called them again. This time the representative named Charles raised his tone on me for being impatient. I insisted to talk to the supervisor.

After some hard work, I talked to the supervisor. He listened to my complain and put me on hold. My line was cut. I called him back and he said that he was busy. He referred me back to that "Charles" about my case. This representative told me that he needed to talk to someone about my case. He said that he would promise me to call me back. There was no response at all. I called again and the answering machine picked up my call. I left the message that I wanted my refund as soon as possible.

A week later, I called again; the supervisor asked me to call back on next Wednesday. I refused and I claimed that I would call police. He said that I can do what I want.... I hanged up and look for help. I have found out that the address that they gave me may not be real. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!

Try our Attorney General here in Connecticut. The address is:

55 Elm St. Hartford, Ct. 06101

Or call their number for Antitrust/ Consumer Protection at (860) 808-5400. Also try their Banking Department - the main # is 1-800-240-8299. If these guys get involved you'll get your money back and probably interest accrued.

In any event, this is a good place to start. Good luck!
