I bought a jeep cherokee in oct of 04. By feb of 05 my transmission was gone as well as the rear end. I hired a lawyer and went after the dealership in which I won a settlement and the dealership bought my vehicle back payiny united auto credit in full for the jeep. The jeep was financed through UAC which was the biggest mistake of my life. For three months they called at least 3 times a day as well as my work even after asking them not to. When the threats started to come like dont make us come get the vehicle cause it wont be pretty etc... according to my attorney they were charging me an illegal intrest rate. Keep in mind that the dealership bought the jeep back paying UAC in full at which time they reported to the credit bureau that my jeep had been repoed not paid off. I have already filed a complaint with the credit bureau for false information and if they do not make it right they will be sued. These people are the meanest disrespectful people I have ever dealt with in my life. They are horrible.

Threatened Repo for $11

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, October 05, 2005

I too, am a victim of United Auto Credit and I can assure you, they will use any means to get their money. The best I can suggest is to pay the payment on time because their tactics for collection include, intimidation, harassment, beligerance, and threats.

My recent issue is I inadvertantly shorted them $11.00 on my ON TIME car payment which I WESTERN UNIONED so it would NOT be late. I got a call 2 days later with the threat of REPO for shorting them $11.00.

All I can say is next time I get a car loan, I am going to research the company before I sign on the dotted line.

If you notice..... The company is pretty horrible to work for as well. An ex-employee of the organization informed me their turn over is so high because of their mafia collection tactics, total disregard for the law and the fact they are just horrible to their customers who they treat like 2nd class citizens.
