This is to make all people who might have bad credit and are looking into a vehicle purchase.
If your auto dealer tries to finance you through United Auto Credit, please think twice. They are no better than mafia loan sharks with their ILLEGAL collection practices.

For example:
You are ONE DAY late.. They will begin harassing you at home or work. If you tell them to stop calling you at work.. They will continue to call. ILLEGAL.

IF you are 3 days late or God forbid you are unavailable to return a phone call IMMEDIATELY, they will begin to contact EVERYONE you know to locate you. They will also tell these people that you are a deadbeat, you owe money, etc. ILLEGAL and a complete violation of the truth in lending act.
They will go as far as to contact people not on your REFERENCE list to try to contact people on the REFERENCE list. ILLEGAL.

If you are late on a payment they will demand you pawn your property, take out a pay day loan, borrow from your family.

They consider anything 9 days or more late-actually 30 days late and will threaten Repo.

They will show up IN PERSON to your home or job. ILLEGAL.

They will call you repeadidly and swear at you, harass you, berate you.

They will refuse to provide a annual statement as to the accounting of what you may owe.

They will slap you with a REDICULOUS interest rate.

They will conduct conversations with you then LIE and say they never happened even if you document the call.

All I am saying is BEWARE.

I think Don Corelone had more integrity than UACC.

immoral?

It is immoral to committ to a contract and then pay it late, then complain that someone asks you to pay immediately when you are past due. Mary, why don't you just pay on time? Do you have a lot of excuses to provide? Maybe that is why your credit had already sufferred, take some responsibility for yourself and your credit. The world is not to blame for your problems. "God will help those who help themselves, but he will not write your checks for you." You need to rethink your position.

I have had a loan with them since February also...and have had no problems yet. Yes, they do call you a week before it is due to remind you your payment due date is coming up. I actually like this call, as it reminds me to get it mailed out. In fact, this month.....due to certain things going on in our life, I didnt get our payment mailed out until the day before it was due. I got a call on the due date...asking where our payment was. I told them when I sent it out....and he mentioned that they may have to have me western union it that day. I explained I would not be able to do that (transportation issues) and that I could the next day if it was needed. The man just explained that the payment is due on the due date and we need to give it ample time from now on to get it there by the due date...even if it falls on a weekend. I understand where he is coming from...............just pay it on time and they won't harass you is what I say. I plan on paying it a week early every month....and then I shouldnt have a problem.

I have not had any problems with UACC!!

I have an auto loan through UACC and have had my loan through them since Feb. of 2007. I have not once had a problem with them and as a matter of fact have found their staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. I was told at the very beginning, when they were still processing my loan, that if I was ONE DAY LATE, they would come to pick up the vehicle. This is something you have to deal with when you have bad credit. However, as long as you pay on time (which is your end of the bargain anyways) you have nothing to worry about. I go in and pay my notes in person and they are always very nice to me. I have asked to change my due date as well and they were very willing to do so, faxed me the materials to sign immediately and send back and right away they mailed me my new payment coupons. Basically I am writing in defense of UACC. I have poor poor credit and they were the only people willing to take a chance on me and for that I am every grateful! I love UACC and am proud to say that I hold a loan with them in good standing!

ILLEGAL COLLECTIONS

#6UPDATE EX-employee responds

Mon, January 23, 2006

I have to agree with the employee from the Illinois office. I worked in the Pittsburgh office for a very brief time, and witnessed things that made me very uncomfortable and made me quit the company. I will say that they started calling people and doing field visits after only three days. One day late with them is equal to 10 days the second day is equal to 20 days, and the third is equal to 30 days. This was explained to me by the office manager. I have witnessed him call people and call them deadbeats and tell them to shut thier mouths. As he said, it was called uncomfortable collections, when really it's ILLEGAL collections. He laughed at Better Business Bureau reports, and refused to have anything to do with them. If you look at the report for the Pittsburgh Branch, it even says this. So yes, if any car dealer tries to finance you through United Auto Credit, tell them you refuse to do business with them, and if they still try, take your business elsewhere. This company is so bad that they don't even give you the chance to prove you will pay on time. They will call you about five days before your payment is due to remind you. This would be understandable if a person already paid late once, but goodness, give a person a chance!

Ridiculous

it is not illegal to come to your house to collect a payment, it is called a field visit, and the high interest rate was based on your credit rating, united auto is a sub prime lender, also it is not illegal to call people who arent on your reference list , this is a way of skip tracing, i use to work for a company where all of these things were done well after 10 days late, more like 1- 2 months late so i do think that is a bit rediculous
