United Benefits Of America Health Insurance Aka Thru United States Fire, N.Y.,N.Y. Wants Money & access to my Bank Acct. first Nashville Tennessee
I don't know if this will help or not. But, I was contacted by phone, several times, after looking for affordable health Ins. on line. this one is very persistent.
They promise Health coverage,no waiting period for pre-existing medical condtions, also, perscription coverage & dental.. Only for $99.85 mo. for me & my husband. but first, I am to pay $199.85 up front, by e-check. Then they will send paper work for us to look over, if not satisfied a verbal guarantee of $100.00 enrollment fee,one time, refund. While they wil automatically withdraw $99.85 mo. out of my account. I requested this paper work to be sent to me first. No Can Do !!! You have to pay for it first.
I have contact persons name, phone # and 2 e-mail address's or web sites. They are: beechstreet.com and hcausabenefit.net
The woman who keeps calling sounds very sweet and sincere, but the program feels bad.
Her name :Allie Cage, 1-800-608-4471 ext.270. She says she's located in Tx., but will not say where.
And NO I am not giving them money or access to my Bank Account.
I looked the Co. up on the internet and saw it under Ripoff notice. So, here we are.

I worked, and I use the term loosely, for this company for a total of 3 days. 1st day was classroom yap. Day 2 was cubbie/team assignment and calls plus listening to "seasoned" top sellers in the listening rm. They have a room where an elderly lady "listens" to various sales reps conversations to "ensure integrity. She sleeps the whole time...I know this because she slept the whole time I was in there observing her observing phone conversations. The purpose of this is 2 fold...the co fines the sales rep $ for everything they tell a person that is not scripted. The leads are handed out constantly and I thought that this was a an innovative and wonderful progam if legit. I soon found it an abomination. I was pregnant with my 4th child when I started and I have a child with Autism and have heard uninsurable too many times to count. was hoping to have the bet of both worldsand make money while helping people who deserved to smile and have alittle joy. My final straw was about 1 hour into my 2nd day on the phone. A young woman answered. She was early twenties and had numerous neurological diagnosis and physical obstacles as well. She lives with her parents and drew disability or social security. I gave her the information with prices and options for paying and asked her to speak with her parents about it. I had no way of knowing via phone what her capabilities with decision making was. I asked her to call me back after discussing it with family and researching it, if interested. I hung up and my team leader was peeved that I had used that approach. I was supposed to transfer anyone interested to her before letting them hang up and I definitely was not to give them options. I am an executive manager/director on the marketing and sales field and have been for over 10 years. This was supposed to be a job that was nonstressful for me during pregnancy and that was for a cause I believed in. These people are profiting on others misery. I left directly after that conversation. My chest was tight, my heart was breaking for that youngwoman, and numerous others that I had already heard devastating stories of uninsured catastrophes from. As a parent, I was livid. As a human, I was broken. As a business professional, I was insulted. I am SOOO proud to say that i never sold one solitary thing for that company. My conscience is clean, but everyone out there desperate for help is still in my heart and prayers. Oh, by the way, they mind sell people on the basis that their headquarters is directly beside the White House, in DC, address for corp they tell everyone is either 1599 or 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. I hope this keep some from falling prey to this travesty.

A friend contacted me and gave me the telephone number to United Benefits of America. I first did a web search and saw this Ripoff Repoort. I read the complaints and also read with amazement the response of the Director.
As a consumer who has been duped before, I will make a suggestion to the Director.
First of all use a name, it indicates credibility.
Secondly, if your product offering is as beneficial and legitimate as you state, then why don't you post on your website exactly what the program provides in detail. For the record, I did contact BCBS and asked for a quote and asked for a detailed description of what coverage and benefits I would receive. I got both and no money is due until coverage is bound.
Thirdly. I have no problem paying a processing fee if required to cover credit reports, medical reports, etc. But I am one who is not paying anything until I know what I am buying. In every contract there is fine print which more often that not virtually makes the contract worthless. Your operate similiar to Home Warranty Providers. Pay up front then they send you your contract of coverage. In that contract there are so many exclusions and home owner responsibilities that you will never collect any money from the Home Warranty Provider. But thousands of consumers are "ripped off" everyday.
and Lastly to the Director. If your offering is legitimate, then send all the details or post them on your website in detail. Don't send out the membership cards until you have been paid the processing fee. The is very simple and lets each consumer review what they will be getting in advance. If you are unwilling to do that then I would suspect that your operation is a scam.
Any LEGITIMATE service or product offering always details in advance what you are buying! Unless of course they have something to hide.

I have worked for many many many Sales Firms in my life. But this is far from being a sales firm. We are there to only help those who no one else can help. The Black outs. There are more then 50 million people in the nation that are uninsurable and we can help them. We work with so many Underwriters (Insurance companys) and non-profit and for profit associations to creat something that no one else can.
So guess what, just like the director said how can you knock it if you havnt tried it. Have you ever taken into effect that maybe people can not just send you something for free, Im sorry but you are out of your mind if you think i am going to send you something and not get payment for it. Something that has not been stated on here yet by any of you, is that you go through very intense 3rd party verification where you are varifyed and recorded while on the phone with the underwriters. You really think that if you were to call BCBS and speak with a rep. over the phone that they would send you benefits without getting some kind of payment?
If that is a yes then you are out of your mind. Some people in this world are just ignorant and those of you that think that are in that category. I have a lot of self respect and worth and i would never work for a company that i believe in. Not only that but i am a benefit member, these benefits are better then any other insurance company i have ever had......and for you information i have had $17,000 a month BCBS benefits. But over time i have learned the truth of it all and realized that i was getting nothing but riped off, even if i or my wife or kids had a $500,000 hospitol bill i would still have been responsible for paying over $250,000 dollars of it.
So you tell me what you think is good coverage. I think ours is the best i have seen in a long time. We are only here to help in you doubt that then your not meant to have our help. I hope you can see past these people that have no idea of what they are talking about and see past employees that are nothing but mad because of there screw ups. If you can do that then call us and see what we can do for you. 1-800-608-4471....Have a blessed Day!!!!!

I was associated with your company. Mr. Director: I like how you have hidden your name on all these reports now. It used to show your name. I wonder if it's still who I think it is, or is it a NEW Director of Growth and Development. HMM....?
I have invested more time in learning, understanding, and dissecting the actual plan booklets of what United Benefits of America is offering to the people. It is hard to find, but trust me it is up for anyone and everyone to see.
You can call your product any of the following and the list could still go on: A) Major Medical Policy, B) Insured Benefits, C) Re-Pricing Benefits, D) Membership Association Benefits, E) Bundled Benefits Package - etc. Let's think about this. Any other licensed insurance agents, correct me if I'm wrong. Excluding option A, no matter what you choose to call your product, the fact will remain that it is NOT HEALTH INSURANCE and is a MEDICAL DISCOUNT PLAN, which is not regulated by any department of insurance and commerce whether state or national.
Do these prospective clients know of the disclosures, exclusions, and/or limitations that are going to come with their membership materials while giving you their payment information? Do you? I do. It took me several hours just to read and digest some of the membship booklets of the plans your company offers, including all disclosures, exclusions, and limitations. You don't know who you are dealing with.

Most people who are looking for insurance coverage on the internet understand that the transaction will take place on the internet. Because ALL of our clients have expressed an interest in receiving the benefits that we outline in our presentation as soon as possible, the system is designed to protect both parties.
All conversations and representations are verifed and recorded by a third party.
Secondly, because the client is interested in using the benefits that are available to them asap, payment is required to send the policy and medical cards to them.
Most importantly, there is a 30 day "Free Look" period by which the client can not only review the information but also use the perscription card to purchase medication at a reduced rate and evev take the medical card to their doctor for review. If for any reason they are not satisfied with the program they can send it back for a complete refund, less the processing fee.
Is there a better way? We haven't found it, but as a business it is our desire to do all that we can as best that we can. The many thousands of Americans who could not find health care coverage who are benefiting from this process far out weighs the few who feel that they should get it "before" they pay for it.

With Auto Insurance you know what you are buying before you hand over money. Your company wants money up front before they will let the purchaser know what the coverages, limitations, exclusions and limitations are.
I also ran the other way when told I had to pay to find out what was covered and would not get a full refund if I didn't like the coverage.

NOT a Discount Plan!
#12UPDATE Employee
Fri, May 09, 2008
There are many companies that offer some form of medical discount card and the writer is correct, they don't do much more than you can do for yourself! However, United Benefits of America is not one of them. With long standing relationships with several insurance companies and even offering a major medical policy to those that qualify, UBA is a provider of membership benefits thru some of the largest associations in the country. Those benefits include health care for many who would not be able to find coverage at all because of pre-existing conditions.
This is not something offered by a "discount card club"

It appears that the person submitting this complaint is not a client of the company
and seems to only have issue with the process needed to acquire the health care benefits that they said they were seeking. It is most interesting that in this day and time someone has a problem doing business on the internet after seeking information on the internet!!! I recently needed auto insurance and more than understood that it was necessary to give the company personal information in order to be able to get coverage. I am not exactly sure what the actual concern is that is being addressed but logic says that if you are interest in a company arranging benefits for you they would probably want to know something about you.
As for the actual process, I was informed by the auto insurance company that they could not send me a policy until I actually paid to have coverage. Somehow that just made sense.

Paying money upfront? Bad Idea!!!

Anytime you come across a deal where you have to pay money upfront to start a service-whether it be a credit card, or insurance, or any other type of deal, is usually a scam, and if you see something like this-run the other way very very fast!!!

This is not health insurance, it is a discount plan and nothing more. No provider of healthcare services is bound by any contract to accept this arrangement nor does this arrangement provide a limitation on your expenses. You can negotiate a cash discount just the same as they can.
