United Collection Bureau Inc ripoff Toledo Ohio
Collection agents named AMY and Oliver have called me every day about a Verizon Bill that isn't mine. I turned them over to the attorney generals office in N.C. The Verizon bill is being investigated by a District Manager, but when I try to explain this to them they yell and scream at me and make verbal threats. Oliver assked me" Why don't I just pay the *&*& bill?".They are violating the law by calling my house number, because it is listed on the Do Not Call Registry.

Collectors do not fall under the do not call registry, but they do fall under the fdcpa, if they swore at you they are in violation and you may want to see what recourse you have under that law.

Once again, a debt collector is not in violation of the National Do Not Call Registry for calling. The first number that is called on the file was given to them.
If you truly want to get them to stop calling, send a cease calls letter. As you list being in North Carolina, you have to send the letter. Massachusetts is the only state where a verbal request has to be honored.
