Whoa... We wrote a check just to get rid of the kid afraid of him coming back... The aggressive tone was enough to scare us all. After speaking with neighbors, we realized he was using the same tactic his company uses in many other states using teenagers with a bogus claim that books (at a 400% mark-up) would be donated to a charity... Of course, a receipt wasn't issued, available or offered. Just a few days before more than 5 police reports had been filed a block away from our home from apparently the same teen.

These scammers are branching out everybody. I pray someone shuts this company down fast before it makes Mr. James Clair even richer. He won't get a penny of our money, but it did cost me $30 to cancel the check.

Thanks for the information. These guys are working in Wilmette too. The man who came to our door was pretending to be a local high school student raising money for a trip to a soccer tournament.

I didn't feel right about it, but we wrote a check out. I cancelled it today. He seemed too old, the prices seemed way too high. And as in other comments, he's speil was that he had just moved into the area, dad was in the military so he'd lived all over, his mom and dad wanted him to build character, he was hoping to get a scholarship, his poor mother hoped he would go to school locally, etc. He was very convincing.
