United Financial Group Sweepstakes Winner Scam with Check enclosed Toronto Ontario
I'm reporting another instance of the sweepstakes scam coming from a fictitious company named "United Financial Group".
Claims that I've won 55,000 bucks and need to pay the tax using Moneygram to a tax agent, and that I need to contact some bogus woman named Rebecca at 647-686-9305.
Check enclosed for 3975.00 from Honesdale National Bank, 733 Main St., Honesdale, PA 18431.
From bottom of the check: Bank routing number 031 308 535, Account number 12909928.
Will figure out the right authority to send the docs to this weekend.

If you read some of the HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of reports on this scam on this site, you will discover that NO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY will touch it. US agencies cannot, because your money is sent to a foreign country. Canadian agencies won't, either.
