UPS delivered a package to my house.  They did not honk or try to get my attention in any way.  They threw the package in my yard.  My dog got ahold of it and tore it up.  The plastic in the box could have killed my dog.

I tried to contact UPS and was ignored.  A couple of weeks later, I attempted to contact them again.  They responded, asking for the same information THREE DIFFERENT TIMES.

I finally received an email stating that they could not discuss the matter with me and had to discuss the matter with the company that shipped the product.  The company that I purchased the product had nothing to do with it- UPS did not follow proper procedure in delivering the package.  The contents of the package were a complete loss, and my dog could have choked on the plastic wrapping.

Proper Procedure?

UPS did not wrap the package in plastic that was the company that delivered it.  So they are correct if you have an issue with the packaging being plastic you need to take that up with the company.

Now, please tell us exactly what is "Proper Procedure" for delivering a package.  Can you point to some rule or regulation that says a shipping company MUST honk or attempt to get your attention?  My guess is that you can't because no such rules exist.  Unless this package was requested to have a signature confirmation all the UPS driver needs to do is drop it off.

Of course if they didn't get a signature when they should have you could have a valid claim.  But what are your damages?  Have they or the company refused to compensate you for the damage or send a new one?  What did the company do when you told them the package was a total loss?  Did you have any medical bills from your dog getting into the package?  Or is this a case of your dog being "almost" killed in the same way that your dog would have been "almost" killed by running across a crowded street?
